Gain new skills and help another family

Posted on December 12th, 2007

  • Do you remember how it was when your new baby arrived?

  • Would you have loved some support and a listening ear in those first few months?

  • Would you like to support another family?

The  FREE Support Parent Training course is for you.

The course is FREE and run by the Cleft Lip & Palate Support Group in conjunction with Parent to Parent New Zealand.

It is an 18 hour accredited course, where you learn skills to safely support others.  It is also a chance for some self reflection where you assess your ability to support others.

It will run on two consecutive weekends.  We acknowledge the considerable committment that this course is but truly believe the benefits to you in becoming a Support Parent balance this out.

A participant on our last course said,  ” I think because I had been there I really wanted to be a Support Parent for families with cleft babies.  I would recommend this course to everyone, it’s a chance to give something back, and show there is a light at then end of the tunnel, and that in a very short time our precious babies soon grow into gorgeous children.”

Sound like you, please contact us on 0800 425 338.  Or e-mail susan@cleft.org.nz for more information.
