Thank you for thinking about becoming a Cleft Camp leader.

Cleft Camp is a three-day residential camp for young people aged 10 to 17 with cleft conditions. Leaders work in a small team to support up to 30 young people across two age groups.

What the role involves

• Complete the required training before camp.

• Travel to camp with a group of attendees.

• Stay for the whole camp, until the group leaves.

• Lead or help lead activities that suit your skills and interests.

• Work with the on-site lead and age-group leads.

• Follow our code of conduct.

What Cleft NZ covers
We cover travel, accommodation, meals, activity costs, and training. If feasible, we would appreciate volunteers covering travel costs but this is not a condition.

What happens next
Shortlisted applicants are invited to interview, referees are contacted with permission, and we begin the NZ Police vet for people we are seriously considering.
